ELASTIC GEOMETRIC IN COLORS SERIES
As colours are the central component to my paintings practice, this new series of abstract creations brings geometrical forms and colours to work together in eclectic compositions.
I am engaged in an examination of the transitory way that colour works when it relates or contrasted in combination with other colours. This construction imparts vibrant colour, linear form, dimension, light, and space.
The painting have black elastic bands embracing the paintings giving them a dramatic result and a sculptural control. The third dimension, created by the illusion that this lines extend beyond the canvas playing with flatness and depth.
The black elastic bands are used inner tubes cuts from wheels of race bikes; it is a way to give a new live to an unwanted, discard object, getting the unspoiled quality and colour of it that I was looking for, to catch a tree dimensional finishing.
The elasticity refers to the human skin and its properties, the strength and the vigour of the human body's largest organ; the colour black, already done, refers to the elegance and play in contrast of the vivid colours, crossing at factual angles, defining painted rectangles and triangles. The colour and the medium, the form and content, the image and the sense of geometrical outcomes, crafted with vivid colours, presented in response and in reaction to the world around them. The effect is the resulting examination with the liberated possibilities of colour and forms, produced by those paintings, which look like moving and appear electric, calm, sober, effervescent and stimulating to the eye.
